My sister, at the age of 44, is now deceased. She is one of the people I have never given enough love. She was a Down’s Syndrome case, and I never knew how to deal with that. I resented that she was my parents favorite. They always believed she would make progress, and grow out of her condition. I resented that they always found me, their underachieving, adopted son with a learning disability, to be a disappointment. I was never a good enough brother for my sister, but she is at peace now.
